Day trip to the London Eye

Report on the day by Christopher Smithers On Friday 14th October, 5 mini buses containing 32 people left the centre for a day trip to the London Eye.
The weather was fine, sunny and warm for October.
It was an early start for all of us, setting off, all busses had a rendezvous just outside of Ringwood. Having gathered without losing much time we headed off to London.
We stopped for a brief time at Winchester services then on our way to the smoke.
Anthony's bus was full of song and laughter singing along to what ever came on the bus radio. When we passed Twickenham we had to sing that Swing Low song and as soon as we reached London it had to be Maybe it's because I'm a Londoner.
We reached the London Eye on time, when we all gathered, we seemed to get on the eye without too much queuing, it was very busy. The eye is a wonderful piece of engineering, the views nice and clear, we could see all the landmarks.
Many thanks to the organisers, helpers, and drivers on making the day a memorable one.

The Gig In The Garden

The gig in the garden held at the Osborne Centre on 30th July was a huge success.
A local group The Wonky Donkeys played popular songs from the 60s, onwards.
The set lasted for about two hours with a break which gave us the chance to get our picnics out. The second half of the gig finished with some of the members given the opportunity to put their singing talents to those present, we sang the popular 1980s Tears For Fears number SHOUT, the outcome, Britain has talent!!
Guest reporter Yvonne Trapp's views The M.S. centre's first Gig in the Garden featured a local band 'The Wonky Donkeys', who kindly offered to perform free of charge. This enabled the centre to raise valuable funds which are always much needed.
The audience arrived laden with food and drink, and some arrived with hampers the Queen would have been proud of. The weather couldn't have been kinder to us, not too hot, but most importantly we had no rain.
At 3 o'clock the concert started and everyone really enjoyed the music, some even stopped eating and were seen to sing along, although whether they were in tune is debatable.
Feedback has been very positive and everyone is really looking forward to next year's gig, as the band has already offered to come back.
A huge thank you to the band members for their time and talent, and for a really good afternoon's entertainment. Also many thanks to the committee for arranging this event.
The concert raised £462...

The Wareham Clay Pigeon Shoot

The Wareham clay pigeon shoot recently took place, ace reporter Howard Pearson gives us his report on the event
Starring Tim (Gleek) Worner, Alan (the `at) Lindsay, and Dawn (Annie O.) Geer. Also starring Steve (Coburn) Moores and five “others”. We all gathered at the Purbeck Shooting Club, Wareham. The tension was high, or was it someone`s aftershave. There were nine of us starting, but how many would return?
Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the experience. We used a range of guns. The clay pigeon shoot lasted a couple of hours. Our instructor, Dick, was very organised and professional, Thank you to all. And as for me – I came last (even the gun dog beat me!). Now where`s my sawn-off pump?
Generous Donation!
